Unfortunately, I had to work the closing shift on Christmas Eve this year. We closed at 11, but we didn't leave the store until midnight. It was absolute chaos the entire day and night at Target. I couldn't believe the amount of people still shopping the night before Christmas. It was like Black Friday all over again!
Thank goodness for this girl right here! I'm so thankful for our evolving friendship. We closed together and were troopers about it. Honestly, we had a great closing team and it made it so much better. Love you all! :)
Every Christmas Eve since I can remember, my family has had the tradition of opening PJ's. So I have carried on the tradition now that I am married on my own. So I walked in the door to Shae greeting me with, "Merry Christmas, baby!" and we opened out pajama's. I got him basic plaid PJ bottoms from Target and he got me a PJ set from PINK. He did good. ;) We took a few pictures and headed to bed around 1:30am.
We woke up around 8am on Christmas morning. Shae went and through some cinnamon rolls into the oven while I freshened up. We opened our stockings and our presents and tried to make it last as long as possible. It's amazing how fast opening presents goes when you only have two people! We got gift cards and clothes and a nice new set of pots & pans (thanks mom!). I got Shae all the seasons of Game of Thrones, a couple hoodies, a tool box and a few tools, a thermus, a Packers hat & Packers watch and a few other little things. He ended up getting me a new workout outfit from PINK, a water bottle, a black gym membership to Planet Fitness (something I asked for), Sims 4, a Yankee Candle warmer & a couple scents, some acrylic cases for my desk and a few other little things. It was a great morning and we finished it off with making a more savory breakfast (cinnamon rolls weren't cutting it for us!). I was drinking screwdrivers all morning, but we saved the harder drinks until noon. We chose to make mudslides for the entire day (I will leave the recipe down below). We FaceTime'd all of our family and made all the rounds and after awhile, we decided we would go see Daddy's Home. So we stopped at Panda Express - so festive, I know - and headed to the movies. I was shocked to see so many people at the movies. Movies were selling out! It was crazy.
After the movies, we came home and started watching Game of Thrones, drank beer and let sleep make it's way upon us. I got tired pretty quickly from all the day drinking. In fact, I fell asleep in the movie theater! I guess the movie wasn't funny enough. ;)

My little Christmas babies ♥
I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and holiday season and I hope you all have a Happy New Year!
